St. Louis Art Museum | Navigating the River: Challenge

In conjunction with the Saint Louis Art Museum’s exhibition Navigating the West: George Caleb Bingham and the River, the Museum and Mercury Films produced a series of five two-minute videos featuring vignettes of fascinating people whose lives are intertwined with the rivers, from musicians to canoe racers, artists, an architect, a professor and a barge captain.

As part of the rollout in St. Louis, the videos were presented at the Saint Louis Art Museum’s Farrell Auditorium with an onstage roundtable following the screening to speak with the individuals featured in the videos as well as the Mercury Films production team. We filmed the stories all through the lens of our RED Digital Cinema camera in a helicopter, on a barge, in a canoe, on the banks of the Mississippi and more.
